(The Danish Museum of Industry)

The Museum of Industry is a governmentally approved museum, which has specialized in the history of industry. The exhibitions mostly deal with the culture of factory workers, craftsmen and industry after 1850.

The City Museum of Art has an exhibition which mostly represents modern Danish art , respresenting artists such as Michael Kvium.

Bygholm Agricultural College

The college´s goal is to educate modern farmers who show respect for the environment and the welfare of their animals. Young farmers start their course of education as 16- or 17-year-olds and are offered a complete farming education.

Stenomuseet

The Steno Museum holds exhibitions on the history of science and the history of medicine. It also operates a planetarium and a medical herb garden.

Kattegatcentret

Kattegatcentret lies by by the sea. Here you find aquaria, where you can experience life under the surface, watch fish and animals from Kattegat and get close to sharks from the tropics. In the exhibitions of Environment and Science children of all ages have the possibility to play and learn.

Koldinghus (The old royal castle of Koldinghus, museum)

In its days, Koldinghus castle was the last royal residence in Jutland. Today it houses a museum.

 

Kongernes Jelling

The Kings´ Jelling is the name of the information centre which lies close to the Hills of Jelling in beautiful surroundings. Here you are told the story of a time where Jelling was the centre of Danish history.

At Ribe Viking Centre a large Viking urban complex from Denmark's oldest town, Ribe, is reconstructed and brought to life. Here, you can:

Ribe, the oldest town of Denmark

There are very few places in Denmark where it is possible to see an entire medieval town centre with old half-timbered houses and cobblestone streets. The town is full of relics from bygone days, but in no way is it a museum. Ribe is a hive of activity all year round. Visit the many museums and churches, take an excursion to the Tidal Flats or Mandø where nature shows her strength.

The Fisheries and Maritime Museum

The Fisheries and Maritime Museum is the largest institution of its kind in Denmark focusing on Danish fisheries and marine biology, the tidal wetlands (Wadden Sea), west Jutland coastal shipping and the North Sea offshore industries. So the theme of the museum can truly be said to be "people and the sea".
